Before acquiring a dog, there is certain things that we have noticed during our experiences which we believe important to transmit you.

If you decide to purchase a Boerboel via internet, you have to be watchful and being sure to get answers to all of your questions, because sometimes, some of your questions can be forgotten and sometimes that is not an error, so, be wise and try to read between the lines if not, look for another breeder.

Too, on some websites, pay attention to some of their informations, for exemple, It happens that the weight of certain dogs are not exact and often higher than the reality, this is probably to favour the selling. Because there is a majority of persons who look for a very large Boerboel,  but this does not make sense,  the Boerboel has to keep his original size so he will remain a strong, imposing, agile and fast dog.

The Boerboel can live for a long time so, before acquiring one, be sure to have enough space for him to stay healthy, having enough time to spend with him, enough money to provide him quality food and good cares, being sure that you really desire a faithful companion for the next 10 to 12 years because to depart from a dog some years later is the worst thing we can do to our best friend.

The selection of a breeder is very important too, there is a lot who breed only for money and there is some who breed dogs from the same bloodline more, they don’t pay attention to hip issues and prefer to have lot of dogs without being able to provide them a good quality life, the only thing they want is money…

And, there is other breeders who are ready to do all what it needs to preserve the inheritance of the breed and even to improve it if they can, they provide good cares to their dogs, some visits to the veterinary, exercise, basic training, love and not necessarily a litter at every heat a female can have….

I have included some text at the heading “reading” which demonstrate what can happen in the head of a dog according to some sad situations. If after those reading, your are emotionally touched, this is positive and demonstrate your sensitivity and comprehension toward the animals.

So, acquiring a dog is not an easy thing when we think at all we have to check but, when we have done the right choice, the fact to own a Boerboel as a family member is a wonderful experience!
