Like we have mentioned it at the heading « contact us » we lived in a small village name St-Jude located in the province of Quebec in Canada. St-Jude is at less than an hour from Montreal and at 15 minutes from the highway 20 so, it is very easy to visit us. You will note on this page some pictures of our property which we think is an ideal place to keep animals.

About our dogs, we love them more than anything more, we respect this breed the “Boerboel” and will do all what it needs to preserve it as it should be and even, we will improve it if we can. We absolutely not wish that this breed become like other one which today are no more like they were at the beginning, they are weak with lots of problems, all of this caused by people who have just thought to money without knowing what they did…

We want to breed our dogs but not at any price. Like we mentioned at the heading « our story » I am extremely meticulous and it took us  lot of time to select the dogs we already own, because we have some specific criterions and you will notice in your search that all the Boerboels have not the same look and the breeders have not all the same mentality. We want to add that our dogs are imported from South Africa, too, they are from parents which are registered with SABT (a Boerboel association in South Africa) and they are now registered with USBA (United States Boerboel Association).

After several hours of reading and discussion with great people, it is not easy to institute standards because there are Boerboel associations which have not same standards and persons with lot of knowledge who have opinions absolutely different. However, we have concluded and agree to say….to do an excellent breeding we need to own dogs which come from reliable breeders and quality breeding dogs. Too, when they are old enough, breeding dogs have to be check to detect if they have hip issues or any other physical or comportment problems which are not good for  the breed, we have to provide to our dogs space to let them run and stay healthy, quality food, love from their family (us), an environment which allow them to be socialize with people, with nature and any other situations which allow them to be developed at their maximum, basic training and regular visit at the veterinary.

So, all the above elements are found at Edel Boerboel, we want to add that we favour quality to quantity and we don’t plan to own a high number of dogs in the future because our dogs live with us and to possess lot of them, means for us…production…and that is really not what we want.
